A Heart's Journey is the story of a naïve, sensitive women growing up in the forties and fifties, forced at a young age to make it on her own. This is the emotionally honest journey of a timid and sensitive girl in the rural south becoming—through God’s grace and her own determination—a mature woman in control of her own future.

After retiring from her work in communication, banking and insurance, Patricia Milling Bonaparte is now free to pursue her hobby of writing. She has published 3 children's books, all about the adventures of best friends Ethan and Tatum as they grow up, and "A Heart's Journey," a story about a young woman named Pamela who has to grow up quickly in 1950's America. She's currently working on a book of essays and short stories.

The heart of Patricia's work is her love of knowledge—both knowledge of the world and knowledge of the self. Her works are an exploration of growing up in this world and learning the lessons it teaches.

She also loves birds; especially Parakeets.
